About Us

Introducing.. the main authors of this blog!
DJ & Anne

Assalamualaikum w.b.t, and a very good day to everyone!
First of all, this is our blog for ENCO 2101 Intercultural Communication and feel free to leave a comment after reading our posts!

We, DJ (right) and Anne (left), are both students of English for International Communication, Kulliyyah of Languages and Management IIUM. Both of us are 21 years old and also the youngest daughter of our own families. However, DJ is from Kuala Lumpur, meanwhile Anne is from Sabah! The culture differences have united us throughout our friendship for 3 years since our foundation studies.

As we know, Sabah and Kuala Lumpur are so much different in terms of food, norms, vocabulary and dialect. Sometimes, I, DJ, could not even understand what Anne is talking about when she is angry. However, as time goes by, I have adapted to her culture and her speech style and could even converse (a bit) in Sabahan dialect! In return, since Anne and I are studying in Kuala Lumpur now, she has also adapted to the dialects of the peninsular community as well as the food that we have here.

Last but not least, we hope that we could share more on culture differences from all around the world from you readers out there! The world is such a better place to live in with peace and harmony.

Our culture, language, history, and values are vital to uniting us as a nation– Bobby Andal
